Frequently Asked Questions
- How much experience do you have in the Videography business?
I have been recording events professionally since 2001. Before that he created a music video, a short film and produced my own video projects for my Music Techonology Degree during my time at University. - What equipment do we use to film and edit?
I use the Canon XM-1 and XM-2 and directional boom microphones. These cameras are high end 3ccd digital cameras, renowned for their ability to handle low light and superior sound quality. They are TV broadcast quality and have been used to shoot commercials and programmes for RTE.
I edit using Final Cut Pro (High Definition) on G4 Macs (OS X) and design using Photoshop 7.0. - How will the Videographer be dressed at the wedding?
Very Smart for the whole of the Wedding Day, often a subtle black suit does the job for both flexibility in movement and to blend in with the background. - Do you have sample videos I can see?
Yes, a Sample Wedding's DVD is available for immediate posting & will also soon be on the website. Due to the huge increase in Weddings recorded in 2007 & 2008, a more recent set of samples has being compiled to more accurately represent the latest work. - What format can I have my event on?
You can have it as standard on VHS and DVD. We can look into other formats should you require them. - Will the DVD you supply me with play in my DVD player?
Over 95% of all DVD players on the market support our DVD format. If you purchased your player in the last 2 to 3 years, you should have no problem playing your DVD. - Do I have to pay a deposit? If so, how much will it cost?
A deposit will secure us to your event and ensuring the day is dedicated to you from that moment on. Deposits are usually between €150.00 and €200.00. - What if I have to cancel?
It is obviously nice to get all your money back if no service has been rendered. But your deposit initially insures the day from us being able to take other business so if we lose your custom we make a loss. Therefore cancellations less than 28 days before the event cannot be refunded. - Do you have a written contract?
No, we will meet with you more than a few times to finalise every detail of your special day instead; it helps safeguard both parties from possible misunderstandings so the day runs smoothly & eliminates the impersonal nature of paperwork. If you require a contract for peace of mind, please ask & one will be available for both parties to sign the agreement. - Who owns the copyright?
As in the field of photography, the master digital video recording of the final version and all footage is the property of Moriyama Productions, owner of the copyrights. br> Please note where possible all footage captured is kept in it's original format so to be ready to be transfered to whatever medium the future may have in store! - How long does it take before I can see the results of my wedding video?
Normally between 3 - 6 weeks. These are just estimates and sometimes I can provide your video sooner depending on workload. - I booked you and agreed a price, now I changed my mind on a few details, is this possible for you to do at last minute?
Depends on the details but I'm very adaptable so it shouldn't be a problem. Obviously the sooner I know the better! - Can you produce a VHS/DVD in NTSC format?
Yes. It is possible to export a Movie in the American Format. I do not charge extra to do this conversion unless a Europe Format is also required as it is two separate jobs. - What is NTSC format?
NTSC is short for National Television System Committee. The NTSC is responsible for setting television and video standards in the United States (in Europe and the rest of the world, the dominant television standards are PAL and SECAM).
The NTSC standard for television defines a composite video signal with a refresh rate of 60 half-frames (interlaced) per second. Each frame contains 525 lines and can contain 16 million different colours.
The NTSC standard is incompatible with most computer video standards, which generally use RGB video signals. However, you can insert special video adapters into your computer that convert NTSC signals into computer video signals and vice versa.

Almost all music has a copyright. In order for me to use copy-written music, you must supply the original CD or pay for me to download a copy from iTunes.
On signing a contract with me you agree that you have purchased & possess your own original copy of all music requested.
Under copyright law, you may then display your video or dvd for personal family and friends. Mass production of your wedding or event is strictly prohibited without purchasing the additional copyright licensing per song used. - What makes you different from any other wedding videography business?
I like to work very closely with my clients to make sure the finished product is EXACTLY what you imagined it to be. I am able to work mostly unnoticed unless necessary or unavoidable and have an ability to be 'in touch' with what's going on which looks effortless but requires a lot of experience and concentration. - My Question isn't answered here...
